November 5, 2024 General Election
Election Results
Information regarding the latest reported election results are available on the San Mateo County Elections website . The County has 30 days to complete the canvass, or until December 5, 2024. After receiving the official canvass of returns, the City Council will certify the election and new and re-elected members will take office on December 10, 2024.
Millbrae Election
The Millbrae City Council adopted Resolution No. 24-47, calling for and giving notice of a General Municipal Election scheduled for November 5, 2024. Voters are to consider the following:

Elective Office
Elect three (3) members of the City Council to represent Council Districts One (1), Three (3), and Five (5).
These Councilmembers will be elected by the voters residing in those Districts, each to serve a four (4) year term.

Nomination Period
The nomination period for interested candidates in Districts One, Three, and Five opens on July 15, 2024. There are no eligible incumbents for an open office due to redistricting and the City’s current term limit ordinance. The nomination period for all candidates ended at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024.
Write-In Candidate Filing Period
The filing period for write-in candidates starts on September 9, 2024, and ends at 5:00 pm on October 22, 2024. For more information about running for elected office in Millbrae, please email City Clerk Elaine Tran or call 650-259-2414.
Running for Office
Any member of the public who meets the requirements below may run for public office:
- A Citizen of the United States
- Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Resident and registered voter of the district where office is sought at least 30 days before filing nomination papers with the City Clerk/Elections Official.
