Candidate Statements
My campaign has one central belief: Millbrae is brimming with good people, and now more than ever it is the responsibility of our City Council to listen.
Serving as a Millbrae Planning Commissioner, my fellow citizens have shown me a unified vision for what this city should be: a hub of transit-oriented commercial activity, anchored by BART and SFO. I feel my experience uniquely qualifies me to help execute this vision. Alongside my public position, I've run my own home building business for over a decade. I know what it takes to build much needed housing, including affordable housing, to provide a place to live for our community.
Through all my experience, including as a father and community volunteer, I know that Millbrae's next steps will require us to maintain essential qualities - through critical public safety, a small-town sense of community, and education opportunities for everyone - while fueling economic growth throughout our city. Development done right leaves everyone better off. And with my years in the industry both on the private and public side, I know that I can help Millbrae get it done right.
I respectfully ask for your vote.
Occupation: Millbrae City Councilmember
Education and Qualifications:
Thank you for the honor of serving you. Every day, I continue fighting to maintain Millbrae's small town character, inclusive community, and the services you expect and deserve.
COVID threatens us all. This crisis demands leadership for a "Stronger, Safer Millbrae." As a State's Attorney and advocate for the rights of children and families, I know what it means to face crisis head on-and will bring this determination to leading us through recovery.
As your former Mayor and Councilmember, I've insisted on adequate emergency reserves, debt reduction, and budget accountability, all achievements now helping us weather this recession. I'll ensure Millbrae continues to be prepared for any emergency by protecting life-saving medical response and 911 services. Long-term, street, pothole/road repair, neighborhood safety, senior/children's services, and supporting Millbrae's small businesses through recovery are my focuses. I'm honored to have been appointed to the Blue Ribbon Transit Recovery Task Force to keep public transportation operational for our City and region's students, retirees, and working families during these tough times.
Join Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, Senator Jerry Hill, Assembly Speaker Pro Tern Kevin Mullin, Councilmember Wayne Lee, and School District Board President Maggie Musa in supporting me.

Occupation: Downtown Millbrae Small Business Owner
Education and Qualifications:
My campaign is focused on getting Millbrae back on track after the pandemic. We need strong leadership to guide our community through the challenging recovery ahead.
We can support merchants and attract more visitors by revamping our downtown area. I will use my management experience to bring stakeholders together and form a modern and inviting Business Improvement District, similar to those in Burlingame and San Mateo.
Water bills have tripled and will keep rising unless we act. My three-step plan to leverage technology, lower fixed costs, and reduce operating expenses will deliver needed relief to residents, especially those with fixed incomes.
We need a more holistic and comprehensive approach to community safety. We should adopt technology like license plate readers to fight crime. I will champion greater funding for mental health services so we can better respond to psychiatric emergencies, care for students, and provide resources for the homeless. I will implement traffic-calming initiatives to make our streets safer for everyone.
Please visit my website and see how we will improve Millbrae for everyone. My family sends our warmest wishes to yours during this difficult time, and remember, our best days are still ahead of us!

Education: Master of Laws, Golden Gate University School of Law
As a longtime resident of Millbrae and a first-time candidate, it is my vision to see a better Millbrae through honesty and transparency in public service, good government, law and order. I will use my knowledge and training as an attorney in California for more than 10 years to achieve this vision.
It is also my goal to empower the residents of Millbrae to become more proactive in serving the community and inspire more to participate and serve on the city council in the future.
My priority will be to address the following pressing issues I have gathered from the residents of Millbrae: a) high water rates; b) peace and order; c) the Rec Center.
Millbrae is one of the most beautiful cities in the Bay Area. There is always room to do better. If elected, I will work with the other members of the council to try to deliver honest, transparent, responsive and beneficial public service. The Council is nothing without the residents of Millbrae. Together we can do more.
I hope to earn your trust with your vote.
Sincerely,
Errol Zshomack
