Millbrae residents now have access to two fantastic, no-charge services designed to promote environmentally friendly waste disposal and help maintain a cleaner community. Whether you’re looking to declutter your multifamily property or properly dispose of hazardous household materials, these new programs provide a convenient and free way to responsibly manage waste. Let's dive into the details of the No-Charge Drop-Off at Blue Line Transfer and the Multi-Family No-Charge Cleanup Service.
No-Charge Drop-Off at Blue Line Transfer
The Blue Line Transfer facility in South San Francisco offers an easy, no-cost way for residents to drop off a variety of waste materials that can be recycled or disposed of in an environmentally responsible manner. This service helps reduce the environmental impact of hazardous waste, e-waste, and other materials that don’t belong in regular trash bins. Residents and businesses can bring in a range of items, with specific limits on the quantity and type of materials per business day. To ensure a smooth and cost-free drop-off, there are a few guidelines to follow:
To avoid charges, please make sure to:
- Separate your items into the categories listed below. Items that are not listed or exceed daily limits will require a separate trip, and special handling or weight charges will apply.
- Secure items inside your vehicle or under a tarp if using a truck. Unsecured loads will incur a $20 fee.
- Arrive with a valid driver's license and a utility bill verifying your name and residential address. Please share these documents with the scalehouse staff and inform them of your intent to recycle items at no charge.
Note that posted rates will apply to loads delivered by non-Millbrae residents or commercial vehicles.
