Through strategic partnerships and collaboration with the various city departments, the Human Resources Department recruits, hires, develops, and retains a high-performing and diverse workforce. The Department establishes programs and activities that foster creativity, employee development, wellness, and equitable programs that result in a culture of care. The Department is also responsible for functions that minimize the exposure of the City's human, financial, and physical assets to accidental loss.
The Department's main services and functions include recruitment and selection, placement and onboarding, benefits administration, classification and compensation, performance management, labor and employee relations, talent development and training, and risk management.
