    Today, the City of Millbrae announced that it has been awarded $200,000 from the California High-Speed Rail Authority to support the development of a comprehensive, multi-agency, multi-modal access plan to the Millbrae Intermodal Transit Station.

    Section of Richmond Drive Closed Due to Mud Slide

    On Monday, January 9, 2017, the City of Millbrae announced that a section of Richmond Drive, near Tioga Drive, will be closed due to a mud slide. The City's Public Works Department is preparing to close the road after 8:00 p.m. on Monday. An electronic sign will be placed at the site to notify motorists that the road is closed. It is unknown at this time when it will be re-opened.

    Today, the City of Millbrae announced the appointment of Council Member Wayne Lee to the Executive Board of the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG). In this role, Councilman Lee will represent the cities of San Mateo County to help guide ABAG’s policy decisions on regional planning and infrastructure issues.

    Protecting our water resources is everyone's responsibility. Each day, a variety of toxic pollutants are washed from streets and parking lots into storm drains. The storm drains prevent flooding by sending this run-off to local creeks, but this water is NOT treated, and pollutants ultimately reach the Bay.

    On September 13, 2016, the City Council for the City of Millbrae adopted an ordinance changing the cycle for future municipal elections from odd-numbered years to even-numbered years as required by Sections 14050-14057 of the California Elections Code ("Code"). On December 13, 2016, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors approved this action of the Millbrae City Council pursuant to Code Section 10402.5.

    On October 21st of this year, when Boys & Girls Clubs in San Mateo County received emailed bomb threats, two City of Millbrae employees took action and made calls to parents, reassuring them that their children were safe.

    Community Center and Central Park Update - December 2, 2016

    The majority of Central Park is close to re-opening, and the City’s team is making good progress with the insurance carriers to settle on an agreed amount for the restoration of the building and furnishings. In addition, the City Council has approved a project management agreement designed to actively and quickly move the community toward a decision on how to design, finance, and rebuild the Community Center. The goal is to rapidly and thoughtfully arrive at these critical decisions over the next nine months.
