The San Francisco Bay Area is a region that is highly vulnerable to natural hazards such as earthquakes, wildfires, and severe weather. If a large disaster strikes, residents may be directed to evacuate to a safe area.

The City of Millbrae has initiated a collaborative and environmentally responsible effort to clean up its downtown and other business areas. The goal of this new program is to create a cleaner and more vibrant City with the help of its numerous businesses, the Chamber of Commerce, the Peninsula Chinese Business Association (PCBA), and the South San Francisco Scavenger (SSF Scavenger) Company.

On Monday, August 14, the City of Millbrae announced that it was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
