At the Community Garden at Central Park (Recreation Center if it rains)
Composting is recycling, naturally! Learn how to turn garden vegetable scraps, leaves and plant cuttings into compost. Compost provides valuable nutrients for your garden soil, helps retain moisture, prevents erosion, loosens clay and compacted soils for better drainage and suppresses weeds. The workshop will be taught by an instructor from the County of San Mateo Office of Sustainability. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
To sign up, go to https://sustainability_academy.eventbrite.com or call 888-442-2666.
