ADDENDUM: Letter from Millbrae Police Chief Roger Copeland
September 7, 2016
Dear Millbrae Residents,
Yesterday, I released a letter expressing the great pride and responsibility I take in serving the City of Millbrae, and summarized some of the success the Millbrae Police Bureau has had these past four months. In that letter, I cited several statistics regarding burglaries in our city and San Mateo County.
Unfortunately, one of the statistics I cited was incorrect. In the letter, I stated that the City of San Bruno experienced a 51% increase in their residential burglaries over the last quarter. According to the San Bruno Police Department, their agency saw a 50% decrease in residential burglaries this last quarter.
I am sorry for the incorrect information I put out, and the negative attention it brought on the great work the men and women of the San Bruno Police Department are doing in their community.
We look forward to our continued collaboration with the City of San Bruno and the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office to provide the best public safety for the communities we serve.
Chief of Police Services
Millbrae Police Bureau, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office
