Letter from the Millbrae City Council
Re: Support in Aftermath of Millbrae Community Center Fire
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As many of you know, we lost our precious community center to a fire yesterday morning.
First, we want to thank the brave men and women of the Central County Fire Department for extinguishing the fire, and doing their best to save the building. While the building was completely destroyed, we are grateful the fire was contained and no one was injured in the response.
Since then, hundreds of residents, business owners and other government agencies from throughout the Bay Area have stepped up and offered to help facilitate events and programs that were displaced due to the loss. Of particular note, we want to thank the Millbrae School District for immediately offering the use of their facilities for the Youth Summer Camp.
We cannot express enough the gratitude we have for everyone who has given us the support and hope we need to get through this loss. We are truly blessed and humbled by their generosity, and thankful that we are surrounded by such good people.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
