The March 3, 2020, Presidential Primary Election is fast approaching and the San Mateo County Registration & Elections Division is seeking qualified candidates to fill a variety of positions for the upcoming election.

We need your help in recruiting and filling these important positions. Ideally there are residents in your communities that can serve as Vote Center Representatives, Student Vote Center Ambassadors, Election Materials Couriers, and Vote Center Volunteers.

Below is a brief description of the positions available:

Vote Center Representatives – Are needed to serve the 42 Vote Centers located throughout the County. Multi-lingual individuals are highly encouraged to apply, particularly those who speak Spanish, Chinese, Korean, or Tagalog. Vote Center Representatives receive $19.88 per hour.

Student Vote Center Ambassador Program – We are looking for 300 eligible Student Vote Center Ambassadors to assist in the operation of Vote Centers on Election Day. Students earn $140 for each day that they work, including $25 for attending the mandatory training.

Election Materials Couriers – Election Materials Couriers are stipend employees responsible for returning ballots from Vote Centers after the close of polls on Election Day. Couriers are paid $65 for attending training and working on Election Night. The mileage reimbursement rate is $.575 per mile.

Vote Center Volunteers – Vote Center Volunteers are stipend employees that will staff our curbside ballot boxes on what are historically our busiest days. Volunteers are paid $140 for each day that they work.
