Millbrae City Council Meeting Recap for January 14, 2020

Following the Pledge of Allegiance, the Millbrae City Council presented a proclamation to former Central County Fire Department Chief John Kammeyer. Chief Kammeyer served as a fire fighter and first responder for more than 30 years and has honorably served the City of Millbrae since 2014.

The City Council unanimously approved, with a vote of 5-0, the items 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, on the consent calendar.

Item 5 - Resolution accepting the 2019 Pavement Repair Project as complete and filing of notice of completion.

Item 6 - Resolution authorizing the City Manager or designee to execute an agreement with the County of San Mateo to provide Office of Emergency Services District Coordinator Services in an amount not to exceed $56,071 for the period of September 25, 2019 through June 30, 2020.

Item 7 - Accept by motion the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the 2018 -2019 fiscal year.

Item 8 - Resolution authorizing the City Manager to prepare and submit to the Department of Housing and Community Development the 2019 SB 2 Planning Grants Program (PGP) application in the amount of $160,000; and authorizing the City Manager to execute any and all documents required or necessary to secure the PGP grant.

Item 9 - Quarterly investments schedule for the first quarter of fiscal year 2019 – 2020.

Under public hearing, the City Council approved, by a vote of 4-1, with Council Member Wayne Lee dissenting, Item 10 - Public hearing on adoption of proposed updates to the City of Millbrae Service and Fee Schedule for building, planning, and finance department fees.

Under existing business, the City Council unanimously approved, with a vote of 5-0, Item 11 - Receive the informational report on the draft final Classification and Compensation Study; adopt a resolution approving revised salary schedule for maintenance worker classifications effective December 29, 2019.

Under new business, the City Council unanimously approved, with a vote of 5-0, Item 14 - Resolution on Seamless Transportation.

Under new business, the City Council unanimously approved, with a vote of 5-0, Item 12 - Council discussion and appointments to Council Sub-Committees for 2020.

Under new business, the City Council received an informational report on the Broadway Tree Replanting Project (Item 13).

Under new business, the City Council unanimously approved, with a vote of 5-0, Item 15 - Adopt resolution approving the submittal of an application for the Recreational Trails Program.

Under new business, the City Council unanimously approved, with a vote of 5-0, Item 16 -   Adopt two resolutions approving the submittal of applications for the Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant-In-Aid Program to support outdoor recreation projects.
