Millbrae City Council Meeting Recap for May 28, 2019
On Tuesday, May 28th, the Millbrae City Council hosted its second meeting of the month.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance, the City Council presented a commendation to Millbrae Community Television Executive Director Dana Sahae for her diligent and successful leadership of the station. Dana is stepping down from her position at the station to care for her two children. During her tenure, Dana led the station in its transition to high definition broadcasting and led the production of several award winning programs.
The City Council voted 3-0, with Mayor Wayne Lee and Councilwoman Ann Schneider excused, to approve minutes from the special meeting on April 2, 2019, and the regular meeting of May 14, 2019.
On a vote of 3-0, with Mayor Wayne Lee and Councilwoman Ann Schneider excused, the City Council passed the following consent items:
Item 5 - Adopt by motion, a waiver of an additional $20,420 in rental and set-up/breakdown fees for the use of the Chetcuti Room and Great Room by Self-Help for the Elderly per year for a three-year period ending June 30, 2022 in order to continue a Senior Lunch Program three days/week.
Item 6 - Approval of a fee waiver for the Millbrae Historical Society Annual Barbecue on July 4, 2019 for $483 in rental fees for the use of the Chetcuti Room and $160 in staff costs.
Item 7 - Approval for the Millbrae Lions Club for the Millbrae Machines Car Show of a fee waiver of $1,600 in personnel costs and street closures of Broadway (Meadow Glen to Victoria), the parking lot between 446 and 420 Broadway, and the parking lot between 7/11 and US Bank on August 17, 2019 from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Item 8 - Quarterly investments schedule for the third quarter of fiscal year 2018 – 2019.
Item 9 - Appointment of a Millbrae representative to the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Water Supply and Conservation Agency (BAWSCA) and the Bay Area Regional Water Financing Authority (RFA).
