City Council Meeting Recap for April 23, 2019
On Tuesday, April 23rd, the Millbrae City Council hosted its second meeting of the month.
To open the meeting, former Millbrae Mayor Doris Morse led the City Council in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Following the Pledge, the Millbrae City Council presented a proclamation proclaiming April 24, 2019, as Armenian Remembrance Day. The City Council proclaimed the month of May as Older Americans Month.
Following the proclamations, the City Council presented a commendation to Les and Doris Morse on their 65th wedding anniversary.
The City Council received a presentation from Millbrae Police Chief Paul Kunkel regarding the Millbrae Bike Rodeo. The Bike Rodeo will be held on May 11th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Taylor Middle School on the blacktop. All are welcome to attend this great community event with free food, games, and bicycle helmets for children. Come and enter the raffle for a chance to win a bicycle.
The City Council unanimously approved, by a 4-0 vote, the following consent item:
Item 5 - Adopt resolution authorizing the City Manager or designee to sign agreements with five on-call environmental consultant firms in a total amount not-to-exceed $3,500,000 for a period of 5 Years to perform studies and work involving but not limited to the California Environmental Quality Act.
During the public hearing, the City Council voted unanimously, by a 4-0 vote, to approve Item 6 - Adoption of Central County Fire Department Fiscal Year 2019 – 2020 Master Fee Schedule for fire prevention services.
The City Council continued Item 7 - Review of a DESIGN REVIEW PERMIT, CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT, PARKING and HEIGHT VARIANCE and LOT MERGER/SUBDIVISION to allow the demolition of a parking lot and construction of a 4-story, 8 residential unit, one office and two commercial area condominium building on a 0.13 acre site, located in a commercial zoning district at 480 El Camino Real Public Hearing – to the May 28th City Council meeting.
Under new business, the City Council voted unanimously, by a 4-0 vote, to approve new rules for the Millbrae Skate Park (Item 8).
