City Council Meeting Recap for October 23, 2018
On Tuesday, October 23rd, the Millbrae City Council hosted its second meeting of the month.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance, the Millbrae City Council received a presentation on the Millbrae Yellow Command Exercise that took place on Sept. 6, 2018. During the exercise, City staff responded to a mock earthquake, managing response efforts from the City’s emergency operations center in the Chetcuti Community Room. This exercise was critically important as it helped City staff, Millbrae CERT volunteers, and other allied agencies practice strategic and field response operations in the wake of a major disaster.
City staff gave an update on the status of sewer modernization efforts along Broadway. Currently, major construction work along Broadway is ahead of schedule. By the end of next week, 900 feet of new sewer main line will be installed between Taylor and La Cruz. Construction crews will then move on to work between La Cruz and Victoria.
By a 5-0 vote, the City Council unanimously approved the following consent items:
Item 5 - Cancellation of regularly scheduled City Council meeting of December 25, 2018
Item 6 - Resolution amending the Conflict of Interest Code
Item 7 - Resolution approving amendments to the Records Retention Schedule

Item 9 – The City Council voted on the adoption of a resolution approving an affordable housing regulatory agreement and declaration of restrictive covenants at the Millbrae Serra Station Project. Through the agreement, the project will include 444 residential units, of which, 15% (67 units) must be rented to households of low and moderate income. Item 9 was unanimously approved by the City Council.
