4th Annual Korean Culture Festival - Saturday, October 21
The City of Millbrae invites you to the 4th Annual Korean Culture Festival on Saturday, October 21, 2017! From 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., the event will take place in the Chetcuti Room and the Millbrae Library Community Room, 1 Library Avenue. Korean dishes will be on sale beginning at 1:00 p.m.
Since 2014, the Korean Culture Festival has been celebrated with commemoration, tradition, and modern performances, as well as various activities for attendees to experience. Hosted by the Korean Culture Festival Committee, the goal of the festival is to teach about Korean culture through experience rather than study.
The first half of the festival will feature numerous performances, ranging from Korean Folk Song to K-Pop Dance. Among the performers are the Millbrae Youth Chamber, Team Tigers Taekwon, Ilhyun Kim Dance Institute, and students from both Spring Valley Elementary and Mills High School.
The second half of the program focuses on culture experience. Visitors will be able to watch a kimchi demonstration, experience Korean traditional instruments, and write their names with calligraphy. There will also be Ttakji (Paper pan) play, Yut Nori, Top Play, and Gul Lung Shoe (Wheel Rolling).
The Korean Culture Festival is organized by the Peninsula Korean American Parents Association, with support from the Overseas Koreans Foundation and the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea.
