THIS MEETING WILL BE HELD IN-PERSON in accordance with the Ralph M. Brown Act and limitations prescribed by State law. To maximize transparency and public access, while the primary meeting takes place in the Millbrae City Council Chambers location, members of the public may attend in person at the Millbrae Council Chamber, at the teleconference location by Zoom or by phone. If technical issues arise with Zoom or the phone dial-in option, the City Council meeting will continue unless the meeting is being held pursuant to the provisions of Assembly Bill 2449 for elected officials. The meeting will be broadcast live on the Millbrae Community Television Cable Channel 27 or on www.mctv.tv.

 

Members of the public are encouraged to provide comments, but please be advised this is a limited public forum. As such, speakers must stay on-topic if speaking to a particular agenda item, and if speaking during Public Communication, they must address matters within the subject matter jurisdiction of the City. If speakers fail to follow these rules, they will be warned, and if they continue to disregard City rules, their opportunity to speak will be ended. To maximize time for public comment, speakers are subject to a 3-minute time limit unless otherwise determined by the Mayor.

LEVINE ACT - Gov. Code § 84308: Parties to any proceeding involving a license, permit, or other entitlement for use pending before the City Council must disclose any campaign contribution over $250 (aggregated) within the preceding 12 months made by the party, their agent, and those required to be aggregated with their contributions under Gov. Code § 82015.5. The disclosure must include the amount contributed and the name(s) of the contributor(s). 

 

City Council agendas may be previewed on the City website [http://www.ci.millbrae.ca.us] materials related to an agenda item that is submitted to the City Council after distribution of the agenda packet are available for public inspection in the City Clerk’s Office at 621 Magnolia Avenue, Millbrae, CA 94030, Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

 

All items appearing on the agenda are subject to action by the City Council. Final implementation of Staff recommendations is subject to change by the City Council.

Land Acknowledgement

The Millbrae City Council acknowledges that we occupy the unceded ancestral, traditional, and contemporary homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone peoples, who are the original inhabitants of the San Francisco Peninsula. We wish to pay our respects to the Ancestors and Relatives of the Ramaytush Community and to affirm their sovereign rights as First Peoples. We recognize that the Ramaytush Ohlone have lived in harmony with nature for millennia, and that to achieve a truly ecologically sustainable future for Millbrae, we must embrace Indigenous traditional ecological knowledge in how we care for the city’s lands, waters, and all its people. We will continue to uplift and foster a meaningful relationship with the Ramaytush Ohlone community, and we encourage all to visit www.ramaytush.org to learn more about the Ramaytush Ohlone people.

 

CITY COUNCIL INTERVIEWS

 

Following the certification of the July 23, 2024, Special Election results, the Millbrae City Council directed staff to start accepting applications to fill the District 2 and District 4 vacancies while keeping the option of calling a special election open. Both seats are for a partial term ending December 8, 2026. 

 

The application deadline was October 1, 2024 at 5 p.m. Six applicants applied and are scheduled to be interviewed. The applications are listed below in the order they were received by Districts:
