On December 13, 2022, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors approved the following changes to the Building Regulations:

• Require deconstruction surveys for single-family demolitions
  • The survey shall include a list of materials that are reusable in the project
  • Free to customer
  • Deconstruction is not required
• Allow 10 days to salvage before demolition
• Add Waste Management Plans for:
  • Kitchen renovations
  • Renovations over 500 square feet
