The responsibilities of the Public Works Administration and Engineering division include:
- overall management of all Public Works divisions
- providing professional engineering services to plan, design, survey and inspect public improvements
- checking plans for private development to ensure compliance with City ordinances
- conducting traffic studies
- managing City infrastructure construction projects and Bid and Proposal Listings
- responding to public inquiries and requests regarding infrastructure, recorded subdivision and parcel data
- Transportation System Management (TSM), includes Spare the Air, RIDES, and Guaranteed Ride Home
- managing Garage, Water, Sanitation and Storm Drain Enterprise funds
- updating Public Works Standards
- overseeing Public Works General Conditions of Approval for construction projects
- administering the City's stormwater program
- implementing the Urban Water Management Plan and Memorandum of Understanding regarding Urban Water Conservation Best Management Practices
- Testing Sanitary Sewer Lateral Upon Transfer of Ownership
- Insurance requirements
Public Works/Engineering Counter Hours:
Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Closed from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
(Encroachment Permits are issued from 8:30 am – 12:00 pm only.)
