The Millbrae Fire Department is the all-hazard emergency response arm of the City of Millbrae. The Department of Fire and Emergency Services is responsible for the identification and mitigation of all threats to the community from natural and man-made disasters. Response to emergencies, which occur in the community, is the most visible and the most valued of the many services provided by the Fire Department. The Fire Department constantly analyzes the risks in the community and attempts to mitigate the risks through education, prevention, and code enforcement. Develops emergency response plans for those hazards that have been identified but cannot be eliminated. The Millbrae Fire Department must be prepared to respond to such emergencies as; structure fires, wildland and grass fires, medical emergencies, transportation accidents, hazardous material spills, floods, landslides, wind storm damage, earthquakes, and airplane crashes.

The Millbrae Fire Department responds as part of the Central San Mateo County Alarm Plan on all requests for mutual aid, including
the California State Mutual Aid Plan.  It has positive working relationships with all neighboring San Mateo County cities.

Update on April 10, 2013 meeting regarding the Consolidation of Fire Stations between Central County Fire Department and the Millbrae Fire Department.

Central County Fire Department (serving Burlingame and Hillsborough), Millbrae Fire Department and San Bruno Fire Department have studied the feasibility of consolidation.  A plan has been developed to reduce the overall cost for fire services by consolidating two fire stations.  These two stations serve the western portions of Millbrae and Burlingame.  The Burlingame station is located at 2832 Hillside Drive and the Millbrae  station is located at 785 Crestview Drive.
