Millbrae City Council

The City Council consists of five members, elected by the voters of the City to staggered terms of four years each. Members receive $345.00 per month compensation.

The Millbrae City Council meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 621 Magnolia Avenue. The meetings are televised live on Millbrae Community Television (MCTV) cable Channel 27 and are re-broadcast on the Saturday following the Council meeting at 3:30 p.m., and again on the following Wednesday 10 a.m., 2:00 & 7:00 p.m. MCTV also provides live webstreaming of the meetings at www.mctv.tv, or click here for downloads of past meetings.

The City Council is elected directly by the residents of Millbrae. As the legislative branch of the government, the City Council makes final decisions on all major City matters. The Council adopts ordinances and resolutions necessary for efficient governmental operations, approves the budget, and acts as a board of appeals. It appoints the City Manager and City Attorney, as well as the members of the City's committees and commissions.
